Clue #7 and Hint #1
over 4 years ago – Tue, Aug 13, 2019 at 05:09:13 AM

Hello Players,

Thank you again for playing (and supporting )The Game. We hope you’re having as much fun as we are. Because we’re having a whole heck of a lot of fun. Now we know some of these clues have been easier to find than others. That’s because we want this to be entertaining, (not impossible). That said, we’re pretty sure that there’s at least once clue out there that none of you have found so far. To that end, here’s…

HINT#1 -- The Kickstarter page will point the way.

If that doesn’t “clue” you in, we’ll have more hints down the road. In the interim, we’d like to point you to another clue that will be a bit easier to find. But first our…

Clue Recap

Clue #1 -- directions are on the KS page about how to get it.  Though if you search our twitter feeds, you may be able to find it there too.

Clue #2 -- Watch the project video... all of it.

Clue #3 -- Will be hanging ten with a certain metallic shark (check the updates).

Clue #4 -- Is marching off to battle with a group of expectant warriors (check the updates).

Clue #5 -- is rocking out at the Crossroads (check the updates).

CLUE # 6 I am your density... I mean... your Destiny(check the updates).

And now, CLUE #7 Do That Voodoo That You Do So Well…

Hey everyone, I met Newton Lilavois on the inaugural episode of Comics Creator Club. If you don’t know Comics Creator Club it’s a fabulous podcast that interviews assembled panels of comic book writers and artists. (To be fair, the first episode was a bit bumpy, marred by some technical difficulties, but the show quickly found its footing and has been knocking out some amazing interviews.)

If you don’t know Newton, now is the time…

Newton, as one could tell from the interview, is an incredibly intelligent and thoughtful writer.  I was able to confirm this assessment in person when we met up at SDCC last month. You can probably confirm it yourself by taking a glance at the gorgeous artwork from Crescent City Monsters that Newton has up for his current Kickstarter (which is live for ONLY 3 MORE DAYS).

Okay, you don’t have to be that smart to jump at partnering with Gian Carlo Bernal’s lush line work, but Newton did have the foresight to have him depict a mash of Monsters and Voodoo down in the Big Easy. And if you want to find Clue #7, maybe  you'll have some similar foresight and check out some of his project updates. (I for one really hope to hear the Crescent City theme song that's in the works.)

Thanks again everyone for spreading the word about The Game.  The more people play and back the comic, the more everyone wins.  We really couldn't do any of this without you.

All the very best,

Charlie, Conor and Triona

Stretch Goal Achieved and Clue #6 drops!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Aug 13, 2019 at 02:45:33 AM

Hello Players,

Thanks to you  STRECH GOAL #1,  How To Assemble The Game has been unlocked.

We're really excited about this.  As The Game is a brand new comic, there was some really cool development done behind the scenes that we're excited to show you.  And now we will get to.

It's also time to reveal STRETCH GOAL #2 - An Eye on Iris.  If we can reach $14,000 we'll be giving a textured 6x9 print of Jen St-Onge's amazing variant cover to all of our backers.  And speaking of stretch goals, while Stretch Goal #3 is still a ways away, it's one that everyone is going to want to achieve... because it's going to involve The Game issue #2...

Was that too much of a tease?  Sorry, we like playing games around here.  And to that end...

Clue #5 -- is rocking out at theCrossroads

CLUE # 6 I am your density... I mean... your Destiny

Players, bonus points if you know where that (slightly paraphrased) quote comes from.  And even BIGGER bonus points if you already know Pat Shand.  Pat is the creator that puts the Kick in Kickstarter and the create in creator.  Everything he does is quality.  And the cream at the top of that Shand juice is his Destiny NY series.  And Pat is back on Kickstarter with another chapter.

And this time for Destiny, NY: Stories, he's gotLinda friggin Sejicdoing a variant cover.  If that doesn't get you clicking on the project, you'll have to settle for an incredible plot, some amazing characters and... CLUE # 6 hidden somewhere in one of Pat's updates.

Thanks again everyone for spreading the word about The Game.  The more people play and back the comic, the more everyone wins.  We really couldn't do any of this without you.

All the very best,

Charlie, Conor and Triona

Clue #5
over 4 years ago – Tue, Aug 13, 2019 at 02:44:21 AM

Hello Players,

Thank you all for your continued support and enthusiasm. We've just about reached our first stretch goal. I'm looking forward to revealing stretch goal #2 hopefully in our next update.

For those of you playing our Kickstarter Game, it's time to reveal what you're playing for.  Everyone who completes our game will receive a special, limited-edition print (drawn by Conor Hughes) added to their physical rewards.  And the first 10 people to complete the game and fill our their Backer Kit surveys with the answer to our puzzle, will be entered into a drawing for the original art that Conor drew to make the print. Knowing Conor, this piece is sure to be a knock out and one that everyone will want to own. So, good luck, and let the games continue...

Clue #5 Rocking out at the Crossroads

Do you like Steam Punk? Do you like Heavy Metal? Do you like Steph Cannon and Matt Knowles? I personally love at least two of those things, which is why there was no conundrum about me getting on board their latest kickstarter.

In Heirs,  Matt and Steph have built a world of time travel, mystic portals and head banging music.

To go with that music they've created some amazing videos.  So if you're in the mood to let your hair down and go nuts,  crank up the volume on this..

Oh and while you're navigating the Crossroads, you'll find Clue #5 hiding in one of their most recent updates.  So don't miss out on the world of Isildur... or the clue.  Conor's print isn't going to win itself.  And   you can't win if you don't play The Game.

Thanks again everyone for all the amazing support on our project.  We really couldn't do any of this without you.

All the very best,

Charlie, Conor and Triona

Clue #4
over 4 years ago – Sun, Jul 28, 2019 at 04:37:22 PM

Hello Players,

We crossed 400 Backers today!

It's very exciting.  And as a little show of appreciation, here's a Clue Recap of where you can find the ones we've dropped so far:

Clue #1 -- directions on the KS page about how to get it.  Though if you search our twitter, you may be able to find it there too.

Clue #2 -- Watch the project video... all of it.

Clue #3 -- Will be hanging ten with a certain metallic shark... probably in the next update.  And now...

Clue #4 Time to go off to War.

I love Kickstarter for a lot of reasons.   But one of the best is the fabulous community that's developed online.  One that's extended to real life too -- shattering that virtual matrix.  Two years ago at SDCC, I was lucky enough to meet Clay Adams.  We've made getting together in San Diego a tradition.

Three years now.  And each year, Clay tells me about a new, crazier project than the year before.  Speaking of...

PBOW: World War Bitch is another twisted bit of grind house action/humor/ insanity from the mind of Mr. Adams.  This time around he's joined by the equally twisted and stunning illustrations of Fabio Ramacci (a good friend and Twitchmate of Conor's).  It's a beautiful looking book that you should all CHECK IT OUT.  No, really, you should check it out.

While you're there, if you take a pregnant pause to look around at some recent updates, you'll probably find what you're looking for.

Thanks again everyone, we'll be back tomorrow with another clue for you and a hint about a little something extra you could win from playing our game.

Best,

Charlie, Conor and Triona

Back from SDCC, ready to drop some clues...
over 4 years ago – Mon, Jul 22, 2019 at 02:34:40 PM

Hello Players,

SDCC was amazing.  It was wonderful to see so many backers from White Ash  there and to introduce lots of new people to the stories we're telling, like The Game

Now that I'm back at my computer,  we want to give you a proper...

THANK YOU!

The fact that The Game  funded so quickly is truly humbling.  We're honored to have your support as we launch our newest series.  And since we're heading rapidly toward the first stretch goal, it's time to unveil what that is.

STRECH GOAL #1 ($11,500) How To Assemble The Game.

If we reach our goal, we're going to include a behind the scenes PDF for every backer  at the Digital #1 level or higher.  If you've backed our previous campaigns for White Ash you know how much time we take creating these supplements.  For those who like understanding the process, we'll have the script,  pencils to finished work so you can see how a page progresses, and lots of the design sketches that Conor used to create the characters.

And now, for those of you playing our Kickstarter Game, here's where you can look for...

Clue #3.

Right now on Kickstarter, there's an amazing comic about the most bodacious, bad-ass, Shark you've ever seen.

Metalshark Bro is hysterical with some rocking art.  And the campaign is well worth checking out.  And I have a feeling the Metalshark Bro updates may be worth checking out too.  Say tomorrow...

Speaking of tomorrow, we'll be back soon with another update and where you can find Clue #4.

Thanks for playing The Game,

Charlie, Conor and Triona.
